On Thursday, Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat toured the historic Sun Temple in Anantnag. Highlighting the significant revival of tourism in Jammu and Kashmir over the past one and a half months, Shekhawat expressed confidence in achieving pre-Pahalgam status by December, despite previous setbacks due to a terrorist attack that claimed 26 lives.

In a significant environmental development, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change organized a national workshop titled 'Strategies for Combating Desertification and Drought' in Jodhpur. The event, graced by Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav, underscored India's efforts towards sustainable land management in arid ecosystems.

Minister Yadav outlined India's comprehensive strategy against desertification, focusing on ecosystem restoration, drought resilience, and biodiversity enhancement. He called attention to the unsustainable agricultural practices, such as excessive use of fertilizers, that deteriorate land quality, urging collaborative global efforts to tackle land degradation for regional stability and economic growth.
