President Droupadi Murmu commenced her three-day visit to Dehradun on Thursday, where she was welcomed at the city's Jolly Grant Airport by Uttarakhand Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

The highlight of President Murmu's visit includes laying the foundation stone for an expansive public park on Rajpur Road, set to be developed over 132 acres and anticipated to be accessible to the public within a year. Simultaneously, Rashtrapati Niketan, encompassing 24 acres and formerly known as Rashtrapati Aashiyana, will open to visitors on June 24, offering attractions such as Lily Talab and Rose Garden.

Additionally, Rashtrapati Tapovan, spread across 19 acres, will be open for public enjoyment, featuring serene pathways and spots for reflection. Meanwhile, President Murmu's planned visit to Madhya Pradesh, initially scheduled for June 18-19, has been cancelled due to undisclosed reasons, announced by the Indore Collector.
