The University of Delhi has reaffirmed its strong global presence by retaining its 328th position in the QS World University Rankings 2026. More impressively, it climbed 14 places in Employment Outcomes, reaching 30th globally and securing the top spot among Indian institutions in this category. The Vice Chancellor, Yogesh Singh, attributed this progress to the university's strengthened academic profile and expanded collaboration in global research.

The rankings, undertaken by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), assessed 8,467 institutions globally, with results announced for the leading 1,501 universities. Despite the growing global competition and an updated evaluation methodology, the University of Delhi showcased its resilience and strategic vision, maintaining its standing. The Vice Chancellor highlighted the improvement in the overall score from 33.8 to 42.6, marking significant academic and global excellence advances.

Delhi University's efforts to enhance research quality and impact were evident in its improved International Research Network and Citations per Faculty scores. It jumped 112 spots in research networking and improved its citations ranking. Notably, India celebrated its strongest QS rankings performance in 2026, with 54 institutions recognized globally. IITs in Delhi, Bombay, and Madras also marked significant leaps, underscoring India's rising stature in global academia.
