In a pivotal development, the District Session Court in Shillong on Thursday remanded Sonam Raghuvanshi and Raj Kushwaha to two days of police custody and placed the other three suspects on 14 days of judicial custody. Earlier, after a medical check-up at the Civil Hospital in Shillong, all five accused were produced before the court.

The Shillong Police further probed the case by questioning the taxi driver who transported Sonam Raghuvanshi from Indore to Uttar Pradesh. Post-interrogation, the driver stated that he provided all necessary information to the authorities. Subsequently, the police escorted the accused to the court to finalize custody arrangements.

The Meghalaya Police's Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Tuesday meticulously reconstructed the crime scene to gather evidence in the murder investigation of Raja Raghuvanshi. Conducted in Sohra, in the presence of the suspects, including Sonam, the reconstruction offered valuable insights. According to Superintendent Vivek Syiem, this initiative significantly clarified the sequence of events.
