New Leadership at PFRDA: Sivasubramanian Ramann Takes Charge

Sivasubramanian Ramann has been appointed as the chairperson of the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) by the Government of India for a five-year term. Prior to this, he held various leadership roles in financial and governance organizations, showcasing extensive experience in the field.

Sivasubramanian Ramann assumed the role of chairperson for the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) on Friday. His appointment, by a notification from the Government of India dated April 8, 2025, is set for a tenure of five years, commencing from his assumption of charge or until he reaches the age of 65, whichever occurs first.

With a distinguished career in the Indian Audit & Accounts Service starting from the 1991 batch, Ramann brings a wealth of experience to PFRDA. Before taking up his new position, he served as Deputy Comptroller & Auditor General and Chief Technology Officer in the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.

Ramann's career trajectory includes esteemed leadership roles, such as Chairman and MD of the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), MD and CEO of National E-Governance Services Ltd (NeSL), and Principal Accountant General of Jharkhand. He also played pivotal roles from 2006 to 2013 as Chief General Manager (CGM) and Executive Director at the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
