Audi, Volkswagen's luxury car brand, is mulling over the construction of a new plant in the southern U.S. as part of efforts to ease tariff tensions with President Donald Trump, according to Spiegel news magazine.
The potential new site is one of several scenarios being explored, with an estimated cost of up to 4 billion euros, reflecting Audi's strategic ambition to bolster its presence in the American market. An Audi spokesperson confirmed the evaluation, noting a decision will be made in coordination with the Volkswagen group.
