Amritsar Rural Police, in a significant intelligence-led operation, have apprehended two individuals on suspicion of engaging in espionage activities linked to Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). The suspects, identified as Gurpreet Singh aka Gopy Foji and Sahil Masih aka Shali, were captured following thorough investigations.

According to a statement from Punjab Police's Director General shared on social media platform X, initial findings suggest that Gurpreet Singh maintained direct communication with ISI operatives, allegedly transmitting sensitive information using pen drives. The investigation also pinpointed the involvement of a key ISI handler, Rana Javed, and resulted in the seizure of mobile phones used for clandestine communications.

In a separate yet significant operation, the Amritsar Rural Police successfully disrupted a cross-border drug smuggling network, arresting Lovepreet Singh and Balwinder Singh. This operation highlighted a strong connection to a Pakistan-based smuggler via WhatsApp and led to the recovery of 6.15 kg of heroin, a PX5 pistol, and drug money. The Punjab Police continue their vigilant efforts to dismantle networks endangering national security.
