In a significant move, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the closing ceremony of 'Swarnim 70 Years' organized by the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh in Haridwar. The event was attended by a large youth contingent, and Dhami inaugurated the proceedings by lighting a ceremonial lamp, marking another milestone in the state's evolving identity.
Chief Minister Dhami announced the historic implementation of India's first dedicated Yoga Policy, recently ratified by the state cabinet. The policy represents a significant leap toward establishing Uttarakhand as a global hub for yoga and wellness. Under this initiative, the government will grant subsidies of up to Rs 20 lakh for developing yoga and meditation centers.
Additionally, the state plans to establish five new yoga hubs by 2030 and has introduced a scheme offering up to Rs 10 lakh for yoga research and naturopathy. Further advancing the agenda, the Chief Minister revealed plans for Spiritual Economic Zones in Garhwal and Kumaon, marking a bold step for the state's spiritual tourism aspirations.
