In a bid to cement its position as a leader in electronics manufacturing, Gujarat has unveiled an ambitious new policy. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel recently announced the Gujarat Electronics Component Manufacturing Policy-2025, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision. The policy promises to transform the state into a global electronics hub.

The policy, in sync with the Central Government's Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme, offers 100% central assistance for approved projects. Once a project gains approval from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, it becomes eligible for additional state incentives, ensuring timely assistance disbursement. Promising a significant industrial boost, this policy may reduce import reliance and enhance tech resilience.

Projected to attract investments of over Rs 35,000 crore, the policy also anticipates substantial employment opportunities. Core sectors such as multi-layer printed circuit boards, lithium-ion cells, and other critical electronic components stand to benefit. Additionally, the policy emphasizes talent cultivation and R&D funding, supporting institutions with significant grants to nurture innovation.
