In a recent statement, Congress leader Pawan Khera expressed concern over India's muted stance on escalating tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the United States. He emphasized that India's silence could result in a weakened international position, drawing attention to the nation's historical role in handling crises in Western Asia.

Khera pointed out that, even as Israel continues military actions following the civilian casualties in Gaza, India's absence from the conversation is puzzling. He highlighted that despite Israel's ongoing bombardments and the US displaying military force against Iran, India has remained conspicuously quiet. According to Khera, this silence undermines the influential peacekeeping role India has traditionally played in the region.

The Congress representative urged for a return to India's moral responsibilities, suggesting that the nation engage with its established allies to navigate Western Asian conflicts effectively. The issue was also addressed by CPI general secretary D Raja, who criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not condemning the US actions and urged diplomatic intervention to prevent further violations of international charters.
