Major General Vivek Bakshi, commanding the 56 Infantry Division, met with Lt General KT Parnaik (Retd), Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, at Itanagar's Raj Bhavan on Monday. The high-level discussions centered on security and strategic matters along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), emphasizing strengthened civil-military cooperation.

Governor Parnaik lauded the Indian Army for its commitment and discipline in safeguarding the state's borders and maintaining peace in volatile areas. He voiced confidence in the Army's preparedness along the LAC and its essential contribution to territorial integrity.

The meeting spotlighted successful collaborative efforts, such as infrastructure and civic programs, with the Governor stressing the transformative impact of initiatives like the Vibrant Villages Programme, which benefit from joint military and civil efforts.

Additionally, welfare measures for ex-servicemen and Veer Naris were discussed, with the Governor advocating for job fairs, medical camps, and pension outreach in remote areas, underscoring the Army's potential in these initiatives.

Governor Parnaik encouraged the Army to mentor Arunachal's youth, promoting interaction with schools, motivational talks, and career guidance in the armed forces, thus fostering patriotism and opening new avenues for youth development in border and remote regions.

The commitment to ongoing collaboration was reaffirmed by Major General Bakshi, promising support to the state's aims for security, development, and public welfare.
