Strategic Advances in Assam's Oil Well Crisis

Energy major ONGC has announced strategic progress in managing the critical situation of a crude oil well leakage in Assam's Sivasagar district. The well has been leaking gas for 13 days, but measures like water blanketing are ensuring the situation remains under control.

A pivotal development in the containment operation was the installation of a substantial 200-ton crane, equipped with an 80-meter boom, enhancing the advancement of well-capping efforts. Despite challenging weather conditions and rising water levels from the Dikhow River, the task aligns with safety protocols.

District authorities, alongside ONGC, assure safety for the surrounding area, allowing residents beyond a 500-meter radius to return home. Financial aid and safety measures are provided to evacuated families, ensuring their well-being as efforts to cap the well continue strategically.
