In a bid to modernize agriculture and lessen the physical strain of harvesting, the Uttar Pradesh government has distributed 450 combine harvesters to farmers in 62 districts. This move is aimed at reducing crop loss and enhancing productivity.
Combine harvesters streamline the process by performing harvesting, threshing, and cleaning in a single operation, thereby saving time while improving both the quality and yield of the crops. Key beneficiaries include Bareilly, Maharajganj, and Fatehpur, among others.
A significant highlight of this initiative is the prominent role of women farmers. In 15 districts, 26 women have been at the forefront of operating and managing these modern machines, underlining their emerging role in agriculture, bolstered by programs like Atmanirbhar Krishak Yojana and the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund.
