Kerala Political Battle: BJP Criticizes CPI-M and Congress in Heated Exchange
Kerala BJP President Rajeev Chandrasekhar criticized the ruling CPI-M, labeling it Congress's 'B-team' and accusing it of corruption and appeasement politics. He argued that the focus on Bharat Mata's portrait is a distraction from real issues like unemployment and inflation. Chandrasekhar also alleged that UDF's by-election win benefited from Jamaat-e-Islami's support.

In a sharp critique, Kerala State BJP President Rajeev Chandrasekhar condemned the ruling Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) on Sunday, dubbing it a surrogate of the Congress, involved in corrupt and appeasement politics. He accused the Left government of using the controversy over Bharat Mata's portrait as a diversion from pressing state issues like unemployment and inflation.
Chandrasekhar claimed the CPI(M) was clouding Kerala citizens' attention away from vital problems by opposing national symbols such as Bharat Mata and the Tricolour. He criticized both the ruling LDF and the opposition UDF for attacking the Raj Bhavan for showcasing Bharat Mata at official functions, which was argued to symbolize Indian unity.
The BJP leader further accused the Congress-led UDF of winning the recent Nilambur Assembly by-election with the backing of Jamaat-e-Islami, which he labeled as unlawful and against the nation's core values. This has sparked debates over the use of sectarian politics by both major political alliances in Kerala, as noted by CPI(M) in their response to the election outcome.
