A new museum, the Ram Katha Sangrahalya, is set to rise in Ayodhya, dedicated to chronicling the 500-year legal history of the Ram Janmabhoomi and showcasing its cultural significance globally. Chairman Nripendra Mishra of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra construction committee has shared significant updates on its development.
The museum, while still under construction, plans to feature approximately 20 galleries, two of which will focus on the legal history of the Ram Janmabhoomi over the past five centuries. These galleries aim to present historical facts through technology, alongside artefacts unearthed during excavations that support these narratives. The initiative follows the Supreme Court's landmark resolution of the Ayodhya land dispute in 2019.
Additionally, the museum's basement will offer galleries of international relevance, reflecting on how Lord Ram is revered worldwide. A Hanuman Gallery, led by IIT Chennai, is also underway with expected completion by the year's end, potentially opening parts of the museum to visitors soon. Meanwhile, plans to manage visitor pathways around the Ram Temple are being meticulously devised to ensure safety and accessibility.
