On Sunday, an Air India flight, AI357, traveling from Tokyo's Haneda Airport to Delhi, was diverted to Kolkata following reports of elevated cabin temperatures. The airline confirmed the plane landed safely and is undergoing a thorough inspection.

According to an Air India spokesperson, the unscheduled landing was a precautionary measure due to persistent warm temperatures on the June 29th flight. Passengers have been given necessary support in Kolkata, and alternative arrangements for their onward journey to Delhi are being expedited.

In a separate incident, a Chennai-bound Air India flight returned to Mumbai on Saturday after crew members detected a burning smell in the cabin. The airline stated that flight AI639, which departed on June 27, safely returned to Mumbai to facilitate an aircraft change. Necessary passenger support was provided to minimize inconvenience.
