Madhya Pradesh is set to wrap up its ambitious Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan on Monday, a three-month statewide water conservation campaign led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. The closing ceremony, to be held in Khandwa district, will feature the inauguration and foundation-laying of water conservation projects exceeding Rs 1,518 crore. The initiative, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, sought to enhance water management and conservation across the state.

Chief Minister Yadav emphasized the impact of the campaign earlier today, attributing its inspiration to Modi's various conservation programs. 'From Gudi Padwa to June 30, the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan was driven by PM Modi's initiatives. We will mark its conclusion today by inaugurating significant water conservation projects in Khandwa,' Yadav highlighted.

The event will recognize Khandwa district for exemplary water conservation efforts, acknowledged by the Ministry of Jal Shakti. The Chief Minister will inaugurate 57,207 projects executed under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme and the Watershed Development Component-Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana, worth Rs 641.46 crore. Yadav reiterated the critical role of water, urging collective efforts for sustainability. Future initiatives will include tree planting under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' scheme to preserve natural water resources.
