According to a statement from the Indian Navy via X, 'INS Tabar, stationed in the Gulf of Oman, responded promptly to a distress call from MT Yi Cheng 6 on June 29. The Pulau-flagged vessel, with 14 crew members of Indian origin, faced a major engine room fire, causing a full power outage.' The statement continued, 'Navy firefighting teams and equipment were swiftly deployed from INS Tabar via a ship's boat and helicopter. Thirteen naval personnel and five crew members of the tanker have been engaged in firefighting efforts, dramatically reducing the fire's intensity.'
Just a couple of weeks prior, on June 14, the Indian Coast Guard, together with the Indian Navy and Air Force, accomplished a key operation in salvaging the MV Wan Hai 503, a Singaporean container vessel. After facing severe challenges, the vessel was safely passed to the ocean-going tug Offshore Warrior on June 13, showcasing a remarkable multi-agency collaboration for maritime safety. (ANI)
