Odisha's Political Turmoil: Senior Official Assault Spurs Outrage

Biju Janata Dal (BJD) chief and former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has expressed shock over the brutal assault of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation's Additional Commissioner, Ratnakar Sahoo. Patnaik called for swift and exemplary action from Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi against those responsible, including political figures allegedly involved in orchestrating the attack.
Responding to the incident, DCP Headquarters, Prakash Chandra Pal, confirmed that investigations are underway, with two teams formed to identify and arrest all suspects. Patnaik shared a video on X, which showed Sahoo being dragged from his office and assaulted, allegedly witnessed by a BJP Corporator connected to a defeated MLA candidate.
Patnaik lamented the attack occurring in broad daylight in the capital's heart, questioning the state's law and order under BJP leadership. He urged immediate action to uphold public trust and prevent further incidents. BJD MLA Arun Kumar Sahoo criticized the state government, highlighting the declining security and increasing attacks on officials and common citizens.
