Senior IPS officer Ravada A Chandrasekhar has assumed the role of Director General of Police-cum-State Police Chief in Kerala. Arriving at the Police Headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday, he succeeds Shaik Darvesh Saheb, who retired on Monday.
In a subsequent press conference, Chandrasekhar expressed gratitude to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for entrusting him with the position. He remarked, "I am thankful to the honourable Chief Minister and the government of Kerala for giving me this opportunity to serve the people of Kerala."
As he outlined his priorities, Chandrasekhar emphasized an anti-drug initiative, recognizing Kerala Police's commendable work in the past. He stated, "The key areas of focus will be the anti-drug drive." Addressing cybercrime's pervasive threat, he assured enhanced measures to protect citizens.
Chandrasekhar underscored the importance of Kerala's "Anti Gunda Squad," dedicated to battling organized crime and goonda activities. Furthermore, he pledged to foster communal harmony through active community involvement and highlighted the police's commitment to improving public interactions and soft skills.
