Yogi's Blitz on Crime: Operation Conviction Revolutionizes Justice in Uttar Pradesh

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh's approach to law and order has undergone a significant transformation. The state's zero-tolerance policy towards crime, driven directly by Adityanath, focuses on not just arrests but also quick convictions through an innovative fast-track prosecution system.
Operation Conviction, launched on July 1, 2023, has emerged as a pivotal strategy in this effort. According to data from the Chief Minister's office, between July 2023 and mid-June 2025, the operation achieved convictions for 97,158 criminals. ADG Prosecution Deepesh Juneja revealed that out of 1,14,029 identified cases, 74,388 were resolved, resulting in 69,422 convictions, highlighting the administration's resolve in pursuing justice.
Furthermore, the operation has secured strong outcomes against organized crime, registering convictions for 395 individuals in cases involving the most notorious offenders. A significant triumph also came in the battle against the mafia, with 29 out of 69 identified mafia figures receiving convictions. This extensive crackdown extends to crimes against children, with notable convictions under the POCSO Act.
