Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chaudhary has extolled the Amarnath Yatra as a crucial embodiment of regional unity and harmony. During a recent review of the yatra's preparations, Chaudhary commended the exceptional work of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) in refurbishing the pilgrimage track, setting a promising tone for the event's commencement on July 3.

This revered 38-day pilgrimage, attracting thousands of devotees, is scheduled to conclude on August 9. Pilgrims will traverse either the 48-km Pahalgam route in Anantnag district or the shorter 14-km Baltal route in Ganderbal district. Operations will kick off with the first batch departing from Jammu's Bhagwati Nagar base camp on July 2, amid comprehensive arrangements by the state government and the shrine board.

In addition to discussing yatra logistics, Chaudhary reiterated the administration's unwavering demand for the restoration of statehood. Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha assessed security and logistics preparations at the Baltal base camp on Monday, underscoring enhanced measures for a secure pilgrimage. Leaders, including Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, have been actively involved in ensuring seamless facilities for the pilgrims.
