The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has held Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) responsible for the deadly stampede at Chinnaswamy Stadium that resulted in the deaths of 11 people and left dozens injured. According to CAT's findings, RCB failed to obtain necessary permissions from the police and announced the event on social media, leading to a massive gathering of around three to five lakh people.

The Tribunal underscored that there was insufficient time for law enforcement to implement appropriate safety measures due to the abrupt announcement of the event. Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been pressuring the Karnataka government led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to take responsibility, demanding the resignation of top officials.

In response, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah criticized the BJP's demands and challenged them to disclose past instances where their leaders resigned amid similar incidents. Additionally, the state has increased compensation for victims' families from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 25 lakh each and formed a commission to investigate the tragedy.
