Anurag Thakur, a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Member of Parliament from Himachal Pradesh, extended his gratitude to the party leadership for reselecting Dr. Rajeev Bindal as President of the Himachal Pradesh BJP for yet another term. Thakur expressed confidence that under Bindal's leadership, the party would secure a commanding victory in the upcoming state Assembly elections.
Thakur delivered a fierce critique of the ruling Congress government, accusing it of failing in governance and law enforcement. He characterized the Congress administration as "non-performing," citing that even some Congress ministers were criticizing their own party for unfulfilled promises. Thakur asserted that both Congress's state president and the Chief Minister were disconnected from public needs, which has fueled desires for a BJP return among residents and even some Congress members.
Addressing an incident involving Anirudh Singh, the state minister accused of assaulting an NHAI officer, Thakur termed it "deeply shameful" and questioned the government's functionality amid such allegations. He also commented on the Vimal Negi case, emphasizing the threat to officers' safety in Himachal Pradesh, and demanded accountability from the Chief Minister.
Responding to inquiries regarding the central government's aid during the monsoon crisis, Thakur reiterated the Modi administration's commitment to supporting Himachal Pradesh. He assured all necessary assistance would be extended, highlighting previous support such as funding for housing and potential future involvement of the NDRF or Army.
