In a significant political development, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has expressed unwavering support for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, amid swirling speculations of internal discord within the state's Congress unit. Shivakumar made it clear that his allegiance lies firmly with Siddaramaiah, underlining the importance of party unity in the pursuit of their shared goal: securing victory in the 2028 state assembly elections.

Addressing the media, Shivakumar reiterated his stance, emphasizing that following the party's directives and leadership is paramount. "What option do I have? I have to stand by him and support him," Shivakumar stated. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah rebuffed the Bharatiya Janata Party's claims of an internal rift, labeling them as "lies" and asserting the state's current government's commitment to a full five-year term.

Siddaramaiah further detailed the ongoing efforts to maintain cohesion within the party, referencing a series of divisional cabinet meetings across Karnataka. His remarks clarified the purpose of a recent Bengaluru meeting, countering BJP's narratives and reinforcing the Congress's agenda of comprehensive governance and stability.
