On Thursday, BEML announced a significant expansion of its infrastructure at the historic Kolar Gold Fields complex in Bengaluru. The project involves commissioning three new units dedicated to defence production, marking a strategic push by BEML to boost indigenous capabilities and accelerate the delivery of crucial military platforms.

BEML's Chairman and Managing Director, Shantanu Roy, inaugurated the new facilities during a ceremony attended by the company's functional directors and senior leadership. The units will specialize in the manufacturing and servicing of Armoured Recovery Vehicles and their advanced counterparts, signifying a major milestone in BEML's bid to establish a globally competitive defence mobility solutions ecosystem.

The state-of-the-art facilities, two units measuring 30x140 metres each and one 30x100 metres, are equipped with integrated stores and logistics sections designed to streamline component flow and minimize turnaround times. Optimized for smart manufacturing, these units will enable high-throughput production, rapid integration, and quality-controlled assembly, allowing BEML to swiftly meet evolving defence requirements.
