India recorded a monumental 229.33 crore Aadhaar authentication transactions in June 2025, marking a significant growth from previous months and underscoring the pivotal role of Aadhaar in the nation's digital progress, according to the Union Ministry of Electronics and IT.
The surge in transactions, nearly 7.8% higher than June 2024, underscores Aadhaar's facilitative role in the efficient delivery of welfare and various services. The ministry highlighted the in-house development and growing adoption of AI/ML-based Aadhaar Face Authentication solutions by UIDAI, with 15.87 crore face authentication transactions occurring in June 2025.
Since its inception, Aadhaar has recorded a cumulative total of 15,452 crore transactions, a testament to its broad adoption. Over 100 entities, spanning government and industry sectors, use face authentication to seamlessly deliver benefits. Alongside, 39.47 crore e-KYC transactions were executed, cementing Aadhaar's role in enhancing customer experience and business ease per the ministry's report.
