The Tripura government has announced the launch of a statewide paddy procurement initiative aimed at supporting local farmers and ensuring fair compensation. Scheduled to begin on July 26, the drive will see the procurement of 3,875 metric tonnes of Boro paddy across the state's eight districts.

During a high-level meeting at the Civil Secretariat attended by Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath and Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, it was decided that district magistrates and sub-divisional magistrates will oversee the process via video conferencing.

With logistical arrangements being finalised, including storage and payment systems, the initiative underscores the government's dedication to agricultural welfare and seeks to bolster economic stability for farming communities.
