In a decisive campaign against cross-border arms and drugs trafficking, the Amritsar Rural Police, in collaboration with the Border Security Force (BSF), executed two significant operations. These efforts led to the seizure of eight illegal weapons, comprising five .30 caliber pistols and three 9mm pistols, along with their magazines. Four individuals, allegedly linked to a transnational arms trafficking network, were apprehended during the operations.

Following these arrests, FIRs were lodged at the Gharinda Police Station in Amritsar. Authorities have initiated a comprehensive investigation to unravel the full scope of the network and its international connections. The accused have been identified as Lakhwinder Singh and Harpreet Singh from Dande, Amritsar; Akashdeep Singh from Chabbal, Tarn Taran; and Gurpreet Singh from Kasel, Tarn Taran.

In another strategic operation, the BSF reported intercepting two drones loaded with narcotics along the Amritsar border. These DJI Mavic 3 Classic drones carried heroin packets weighing a total of 1.130 kilograms. A coordinated search effort further led to the discovery of the drone equipment and heroin in adjacent areas. This exemplifies the synergy between technical measures and vigilant border personnel aimed at dismantling Pakistani drug syndicates.
