The Bihar political landscape was rocked as an FIR was lodged against high-profile Jan Suraaj leaders, including founder Prashant Kishor, Manish Kashyap, spokesperson Vivek, and state President Manoj Bharti. The complaint, targeting them alongside 2,000 unidentified individuals, stemmed from a clash during a protest at the Bihar Vidhan Sabha.
On July 23, Kishor had issued a stern warning to the state government, threatening widespread disruptions unless their demands were met. This development comes in the wake of a young supporter sustaining injuries allegedly inflicted by police wielding lathis, as revealed by Kishor.
The situation remains tense as Kishor presses for a written response from the Chief Secretary on pressing issues. Meanwhile, the protestors remain steadfast, vowing to make administrative operations challenging until their grievances are addressed.
The confrontation escalated when the protesters attempted to move towards the Bihar Assembly but were halted at police barricades, igniting brief skirmishes. Criticizing the government's negligence, Kishor highlighted the plight of over 50 lakh child laborers in Bihar, underscoring a larger movement demanding change.
