The Border Security Force (BSF) Water Wing is vigilantly monitoring Jammu's unfenced international border amid heavy rainfall that has significantly increased river levels. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the sky over Jammu will be generally cloudy with moderate rain expected, temperatures ranging between 25°C and 28°C.

On Wednesday, parts of Jammu and Kashmir experienced intense rainfall, sending the Poonch river's water level surging. This prompted the deployment of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel, as confirmed by SDRF Poonch's Assistant Sub-Inspector Zakir. To mitigate risks, Zakir advises locals to avoid water bodies as precautions are in place to prevent casualties.

Amidst heavy rainfall continuing in Kalakote for three days, landslides have damaged properties and obstructed roads. Assistant Development Commissioner Tanveer Hussain Khan assures round-the-clock efforts are ongoing to address these issues. Due to relentless rains, schools remain closed, and rehabilitation centers are being organized, while emergency response mechanisms are activated to ensure public safety.
