In a bold move to revolutionize Bengaluru's notorious traffic woes, Prashant Pitti, co-founder of EaseMyTrip, has declared a commitment to improve the city's traffic flow by 25-30% over the next year. Pitti's ambitious Rs 1 crore project sees collaboration with Bengaluru's traffic police, tech firms, and academia.

Pitti's strategy includes utilizing simulation models from Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISC) to create optimized re-routing options. With data requests sent to Google, Uber, Ola, and Rapido, Pitti aims to enhance these models, improving traffic predictions and prevention of gridlocks.

Further, the initiative proposes the development of an advanced feedback application for reporting traffic issues and a hyperlocal rain predictor to mitigate congestion. A pilot for synchronized traffic signals, known as Green Wave Signals, is underway, promising smoother traffic movement. Public engagement is encouraged to amplify efforts and address traffic challenges effectively.
