In a mounting political battle, members of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) took to the steps of Parliament to protest an electoral revision exercise they claim is tampering with democracy. The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) led by the Election Commission is under scrutiny, particularly in politically sensitive Bihar.

Among the protestors were prominent opposition figures like Congress's Priyanka Gandhi and JMM's Mahua Maji, whose banners read 'SIR-Attack on Democracy'. Faced with repeated adjournment motions in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, tensions continue to simmer as the legislative session presses forward.

The opposition charges the current administration with orchestrating 'institutional voter cleansing'. Congress MP Manickam Tagore voices concerns that the revision undermines the inclusive framework established by Babasaheb BR Ambedkar, sparking apprehensions of electoral manipulation as similar exercises are anticipated in West Bengal and other regions.
