Delhi University has successfully concluded the first round of its undergraduate admissions, filling 62,565 seats, which accounts for nearly 88 percent of its total available capacity. As of the current phase, the upgrade window, which allows students to opt for a higher preference in the next round, will remain open until 4:59 PM on July 25.

Among the confirmed admissions, there are 34,014 female and 28,551 male students. A noteworthy aspect is that 143 orphan students, including 77 females and 66 males, along with 949 single girl children, have been admitted. Despite 16,126 candidates freezing their admission, a significant majority of 43,741 students have chosen to opt for upgrades.

The university had initially allocated over 93,000 seats, significantly exceeding its actual undergraduate capacity of slightly over 71,000 to account for any possible withdrawals or rejections. The admission process, initiated on June 17, 2025, under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS), included over 3.05 lakh sign-ups and had 2.39 lakh students submitting their choices. Notably, B.Com (Hons) emerged as the top choice, followed by other prestigious programs. Delhi University's prominent colleges such as Shri Ram College of Commerce, Hindu College, and Miranda House were the most preferred based on first-choice data, with 58.89% of students opting for humanities.
