In a shocking development late Wednesday night, a man on parole from Gwalior Central Jail was fatally shot near the Gwalior-Shivpuri border, according to police reports on Thursday.

The victim, Leeladhar Tomar, was serving a life sentence for the murder of his father and was temporarily released on parole earlier this month. Police sources revealed that Tomar had traveled to Shivpuri by taxi and was on his way back when unknown assailants opened fire, seriously wounding him at Satanwada.

Authorities confirmed that after the attack, the driver of the taxi rushed Tomar to Jaya Arogya Hospital in Gwalior, where he was pronounced dead by medical staff. Satnawada police are currently investigating the incident, with officers speculating over the motives behind the shooting and urging the public to come forward with any information.
