R Ashok, Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly, launched a scathing critique of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah regarding the recent caste sub-reservation survey, asserting that the measure was a politically driven attempt to incite caste-based divisions. Ashok contended that the census undermines previous data.

The opposition leader dismissed the sub-reservation survey as a mere perfunctory exercise, contrasting it with a comprehensive caste census conducted a decade ago. He emphasized the discrepancy in acceptance levels between surveys carried out by central and state authorities, suggesting the latter lacks credibility.

Ashok further alleged that CM Siddaramaiah's efforts to divide castes were politically motivated, demanding alignment with central census initiatives. Concurrently, he commended the verdict from the DJ Halli and KG Halli riot case and called for stringent punishment for those involved.
