Mizoram's Chief Minister, Pu Lalduhoma, chaired an Advisory Committee meeting to re-evaluate the development plans for the vacated Assam Rifles land. The session, held at the CM's Conference Hall, sought to address misunderstandings surrounding previous decisions, forming a committee that includes diverse stakeholders.

The discussions included representatives from the Mizoram Synod, landowners, and various government departments. A significant proposal is relocating Aizawl Police Station to this land, allowing for the Aizawl Civil Hospital complex's future expansion as urged by the Health Department.

The Public Health Engineering Department aims to enhance water supply infrastructure on the land, pending design approval. Plans also include the construction of five access roads, with the Public Works Department conducting feasibility checks. A draft Master Plan was unveiled by UD&PA Secretary Pu Lalmalsawma Pachuau, focusing on sustainable urban development. Chief Minister Lalduhoma also inaugurated the Mizo Diaspora Hub to connect Mizos globally via a new internet portal.
