Assam Rifles' Twin Operations: Massive Drug Seizures and National Flag Day Celebration

Meanwhile, they celebrated National Flag Day in Manipur to foster community relationships and national pride among locals and students.

In a significant crackdown, Assam Rifles, in a joint operation with Aizawl Police and the Narcotics Department, seized 1.97 kg of methamphetamine tablets valued at Rs 6.6 crore in Tuikhuahtlang, Aizawl. Officials confirmed the arrest of three individuals following intelligence-driven counter-narcotic efforts.
The operation was executed on 24th July 2025 when a vehicle checkpost was set up to intercept suspected drug trafficking vehicles. The contraband was discovered concealed within a vehicle, leading to immediate detention of the suspects. All seized items and individuals were transferred to local authorities for further investigation.
In a separate action near the Indo-Myanmar border, Assam Rifles confiscated heroin valued at Rs 9.75 crore. The effort was part of a strategic initiative to curb drug smuggling in the region. Meanwhile, a National Flag Day event in Tamenglong district, Manipur, saw participation from 600 local residents and fostered national pride and community engagement.
