Rani Kapur, the former Chairperson of Sona Comstar, has demanded the postponement of the company's upcoming 29th Annual General Meeting (AGM), slated for July 25. In a letter addressed to the Board of Directors and shareholders, Kapur expressed concerns over holding the meeting amid her family's mourning period following the suspicious death of her son, Sanjay Kapur.

Kapur, who inherited the majority shareholding in the Sona Group, has alleged coercion and lack of transparency regarding company documents. She claimed she was forced into signing documents without understanding their contents during her vulnerable state and has been denied access to critical company accounts and documents.

The widow of the late industrialist Dr. Surinder Kapur alerted stakeholders about potential unauthorized representations within the company's Board. Urging at least a two-week deferral of the AGM, Kapur seeks adequate time for information gathering, stressing that pivotal company decisions should not be made in her absence. Her lawyer confirmed these claims, emphasizing Kapur's desire for transparency, while making it clear that legal action is not presently underway.
