Odisha TEX 2025: Pioneering a Textile Revolution in Eastern India

In a bold declaration poised to transform the region's textile landscape, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that Odisha is set to become the textile hub of Eastern India. This vision was unveiled during the inauguration of Odisha TEX 2025 in Bhubaneswar, intensifying the state's focus on textile and apparel growth.
Odisha TEX 2025, Eastern India's largest event for the industry, showcased the state's significant strides in becoming a nucleus for textile manufacturing and innovation. The assembly drew over 650 delegates, including top-tier global brands, companies, and industry stakeholders. Strategic commitments at the event saw 33 MoUs executed, unlocking investments of Rs 7,808 crore and creating over 53,300 jobs, further solidifying Odisha's future as an apparel and technical textiles bastion.
Key announcements included the establishment of Textile & Footwear Parks with plug-and-play solutions and modern Workers' Hostels to enhance workforce stability. Increased employment cost subsidies under the Odisha Technical Textile & Apparel Policy 2022 were announced, alongside plans to make Odisha TEX an annual highlight. As part of a broader vision, a dedicated Task Force was introduced, aiming to create 1 lakh textile jobs by 2030, supported by skill development and strategic policies.
