In a fiery debate in the Lok Sabha, Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi lambasted the BJP-led government for its handling of the Pahalgam terror attack where 26 lives were tragically lost. Gogoi expressed dissatisfaction with the government's failure to apprehend the terrorists responsible, even 100 days after the incident. He questioned the government's decision to halt Operation Sindoor following Pakistan's alleged capitulation, sparking concerns over why India did not reclaim territory unlawfully held by its neighbor.
Following Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's speech, Gogoi highlighted the advanced surveillance technologies available to Indian forces and criticized the delayed response to the attack site. He painted a harrowing picture of the aftermath in Baisaran, recounting how civilians were left traumatized, mistaking soldiers for terrorists due to the delay in response.
Gogoi also questioned the influence of US President Donald Trump, who claimed he mediated for a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. He demanded transparency from the government, seeking answers about India's strategic decisions and the number of fighter jets lost during Operation Sindoor, calling for honesty with both the public and military personnel.
