The Supreme Court on Monday expressed dissatisfaction with Madhya Pradesh minister Kunwar Vijay Shah for failing to issue a satisfactory apology concerning his derogatory remarks against Colonel Sofiya Qureshi. The comments followed Qureshi's briefing on Operation Sindoor against Pakistan.
A bench composed of Justices Surya Kant and Joymalya Bagchi questioned Shah's lawyer regarding a public apology the court had previously ordered. The counsel revealed an online apology had been made, but Justice Kant criticized it as inadequate, questioning Shah's intentions and sincerity.
Meanwhile, the court was informed by an SIT member that the investigation related to the case would be completed within the legally mandated 90 days, set to conclude by August 13. The matter is scheduled for further hearing on August 18. Previously, the Supreme Court had halted Shah's arrest pending the investigation.
