Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed strong disapproval on Monday regarding alleged misbehavior towards Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi in the Seraj's Thunag area. He underscored that both the government and the Congress party will not tolerate any affront to the national flag. Speaking in Shimla ahead of a four-day cabinet meeting, CM Sukhu declared that anyone disrespecting the Indian National Flag would face repercussions.

The Chief Minister described the treatment received by Minister Negi in Thunag as "extremely unfortunate." An FIR has already been lodged concerning the incident, and he assured that appropriate measures will be taken following discussions with Minister Negi.

Additionally, CM Sukhu addressed comments made by the Governor of Himachal Pradesh about drug abuse concerns, stating he was unaware of the grounds for the Governor's remarks. He plans to discuss the matter with the Governor to clarify these comments. Sukhu emphasized the government's commitment to combating drug trafficking, highlighting the implementation of the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PIT-NDPS) and efforts to map all 3,575 panchayats for action against drug trafficking.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the importance of the ongoing extensive cabinet meetings, aimed at key policy decisions and systemic changes towards a self-reliant Himachal Pradesh. He criticized BJP leader JP Nadda for not addressing central ministers during disasters and called for central government support in allotting forest land to disaster-affected people.
