GAIL (India) Ltd, the leading player in the nation's natural gas sector, experienced a 30% decrease in its net profit for the June quarter. The drop was attributed to expanding losses in its petrochemical business and a notable reduction in gas marketing margins.

The firm's financial results revealed a net profit of Rs 1,886.34 crore for April-June 2025-26, compared to Rs 2,723.98 crore in the same period of the previous year. Petrochemical losses surged to Rs 249 crore, whereas natural gas marketing earnings saw a significant decline to Rs 1,071.6 crore.

Despite these setbacks, GAIL reported an increase in income from operations, reaching Rs 34,792.45 crore. The company remains focused on growth, with substantial capital expenditures and a new authorization for expanding the Jamnagar-Loni LPG pipeline, a project that promises economic and environmental benefits.
