Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav launched a scathing attack on the Election Commission of India, criticizing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar. Yadav labeled the Commission as a 'Puppet Commission,' alleging unprecedented rigging in the process.
Speaking to the press, Yadav accused the Commission of failing to maintain impartiality in the voter list update, intensifying pressure right before the election. He vowed that opposition parties would steadfastly defend the rights of the electorate, resisting any injustice.
Prominent opposition figures, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and Akhilesh Yadav, joined protests outside Parliament, denouncing the government's alleged attempts to derail democracy. Meanwhile, the Election Commission highlighted the high voter participation rate in the state, underscoring the effort as a success.
