Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis criticized the opposition on Monday for their stance on the Operation Sindoor discussion. He alleged the opposition feared a debate because the truth, highlighting the capabilities of the Indian armed forces, would dismantle their purported false narrative. Fadnavis drew parallels to a 'shoot and scoot' tactic, accusing the opposition of spreading lies without engaging in meaningful debate.
In his remarks, Fadnavis took aim at Congress leader P Chidambaram, who previously demanded proof of Pakistan's involvement in the Pahalgam terror attack, prompting Operation Sindoor. The Chief Minister remarked that such queries were not novel, recalling similar doubts cast on India's military actions like the air strike and surgical strike. He criticized the opposition's mindset as problematic and incorrigible.
Meanwhile, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed the opposition's line of questioning during the Lok Sabha sessions on Operation Sindoor, arguing that their concerns did not align with national sentiments. Operation Sindoor followed the deadly Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, targeting terror hubs in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir and Pakistan, which led to the neutralization of over 100 terrorists. An understanding between India and Pakistan to cease hostilities was reached shortly after, on May 10.
