A shocking incident unfolded at Nagole Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday evening when a 25-year-old man suffered a fatal heart attack while playing shuttle. The entire episode, captured on CCTV, claimed the life of Gundla Rakesh, a resident of Khammam district employed at a private firm in Hyderabad.
The tragedy struck while Rakesh was engaging in a friendly game with his peers within the Uppal police station's jurisdiction. Despite his friends' swift action in rushing him to a nearby hospital, doctors declared Rakesh dead upon arrival, and his body was subsequently sent for post-mortem examination, authorities reported.
The incident has sparked discussions about the potential influence of COVID-19 vaccinations on sudden heart attacks. Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao stated that while there has been an increase in heart attacks post-COVID, the expert report concluded that the vaccine is not a direct cause. However, tobacco use was identified as a contributing factor in 50% of cases, according to the expert findings.
