The Karkardooma court in Delhi has issued interim bail for 15 days to Tasleem Ahmed, a defendant linked to the overarching conspiracy case arising from the Delhi riots in 2020. This decision was made due to urgent health concerns involving Ahmed's daughter, who is battling Hepatitis B and other medical issues.

Presiding over the case, Additional Sessions Judge Sameer Bajpai recognized the necessity for Ahmed's temporary release. The court acknowledged the daughter's discharge from the hospital but noted her ongoing need for specialized care, concluding the bail would support her recuperation and allow Ahmed to arrange necessary financial resources.

Tasleem Ahmed's case is under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), among 18 implicated. While his regular bail plea awaits hearing in the Delhi High Court, this interim relief comes after his previous request was denied by the trial court. His legal team, represented by Advocate Mehmood Pracha, argued the essential need for Ahmed's presence at home to address both medical and educational challenges faced by his family.
