In a significant breakthrough for security efforts, forces in Jammu and Kashmir apprehended a terrorist associate on Monday during a joint Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Marsary, Chowkibal, Kralpora. The operation involved multiple security units, including 05 PARA, 160 Territorial Army, 98 Bn CRPF, the Special Operations Group (SOG) Kralpora, and local police, following precise intelligence inputs.
The individual arrested was identified as Wali Mohd Mir, a Marsary resident. According to authorities, a thorough search of Mir revealed a substantial stockpile of arms and ammunition, including an AK-56 rifle, three magazines, 1150 rounds of AK-56, and 17 UBGL grenades. Preliminary investigations suggest Mir operated as a facilitator for banned terrorist groups, aiding the transport of weaponry to active militants in the area.
Police have filed an FIR under applicable legal provisions at Kralpora Police Station, with further investigations ongoing to dismantle the network of these illicit activities in the region.
