Major Bust: Mumbai Police Seize ISIS Drug Worth Crores
Mumbai Police's ANC arrested three individuals in Andheri, recovering Tramadol tablets valued at over Rs two crore. The narcotic, known as the 'ISIS drug', was confiscated following a targeted raid. In a significant operation, the Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Mumbai Police apprehended three individuals in the Andheri JB Circle area for possessing Tramadol tablets valued at over Rs two crore, which is infamously dubbed the 'ISIS drug'.
Based on intelligence from the Azad Maidan unit, ANC officers executed a strategic raid leading to the seizure of 1,11,440 Tramadol tablets. The arrested individuals, identified as Pratik Upadhyay, Yogesh Singh, and Bhavesh Shah, reportedly distributed the illicit drugs through courier services.
Tramadol, considered a psychotropic substance since 2018, is an opioid analgesic similar to oxycodone and hydrocodone, often misused for addictive purposes. This comes amidst global crackdowns on illegal drug trade, with the Narcotics Control Bureau recently dismantling an international syndicate with ties across multiple continents.
